Hadron distribution and QCD form factor effects in e+e- annihilation
Description
The transverse- and longitudinal-momentum distribution of hadrons in e+ e- jets is calculated on the basis of the analysis of Feynman diagrams in the leading logarithmic approximation of QCD. The resultant distribution is found to contain the effective form factor of quarks, specific to QCD. The predictions are compared successfully with PETRA data and an important role of the quark form factor is clarified. We give predictions on the transverse momentum distribution of hadrons at higher moments (with respect to x) and at higher energies. This will serve as a firmer test for the form factor. (author)
