Description

Total cross sections for the ionization of atomic hydrogen by the impact of bare ions with charge Z1 = 1--6 evaluated in the Glauber approximation are presented and compared to recent data for Z1 = 1--3 and to other theoretical predictions. At projectile velocities vZ1 the Glauber results converge to observed results better than other theoretical calculations now available
