Peculiarities of joint formation of titanium alloy with aluminium during fusion welding
Description
Particularities were considered of the formation of welds of the VT6S titanium alloy with aluminium in fusion welding. It was shown that an intermetallic phase TiAl3 was formed because of diffusion of titanium into molten aluminium. It was found out that under optimum temperature-time welding conditions this phase occurs in negligible amounts as separate inclusions and has no effect upon the mechanical properties of welds
