Reducing surface resistance in YBa2Cu3O7-x superconductors
Description
YBa2Cu3O7-x ceramic samples with the density of 5.5-6.0 g/cm3, Tc=90-93 K and λTc=0.5-1.0 K have been synthesized. Surface resistance Rs of the best ceramic samples shielded with Ag films of 0.4-0.8 μm dimished from 20-40 mOhm down to 1 mOhm (which is by an order of magnitude less than for copper) in the microwave range (10-11 GHz). This decrease is ascribed to the proximity effect
