Measurements of peripheral (parietal) friction in bubble, pocket and annular co-current biphasic flow

Description

The first part of this report deals with bibliographic studies of counter-current gas-liquid flow and the design of an experimental device; however, due to a lack of time, the experimental work was done on a co-current flow with the help of an existing device. In the second part, the parietal (peripheral) friction was measured in co-current bubble, pocket and annular gas-liquid flows. The main regimes of the gas-liquid flow are described and some definitions and the equation of motion are given. The experimental device and the polarographic measurement technique are briefly reported. The mean parietal friction (τ-bar), positive (τ+) and negative (τ-) values in bubble, pocket and annular flow are calculated

Abstract (French)

Ce rapport de stage de DEA comprend deux parties. La premiere partie traite des etudes bibliographiques d'ecoulement gaz-liquide contre-courant ainsi que la conception du dispositif experimental (Chapitre I, II). La duree de realisation d'un tel montage nous a amene a continuer la partie experimentale du travail sur l'ecoulement co-courant avec l'aide d'un dispositif existant. La deuxieme partie est basee sur les mesures du frottement parietal en ecoulement gaz-liquide co-courant a bulles, a poches et annulaire (chapitres III, IV, et V). Dans le chapitre III, nous decrivons les regimes principaux d'ecoulement gaz-liquide; nous rappellons quelques definitions et l'equation du mouvement de cet ecoulement. Le dispositif experimental et la technique de mesure polarographique sont rapportes brievement dans le quatrieme chapitre. Le cinquieme chapitre est consacre au resultat de ce travail. Nous avons calcule et trace les valeurs du frottement parietal moyen (τ-bar), positif (τ+), negatif (τ-) dans l'ecoulement a bulles, a poches et annulaire. Enfin, nous donnons les conclusions de ce travail
