Description
It is well known that a variety of surface and bulk inhomogeneities can be well described by self similar models. These models are constructed so that through several stages of amplification the details in the structure have the same geometrical features. The dielectric response of a self similar cluster of metallic particles or random array of voids is considered. The response function obeys a recursive relation that yields a self similar distribution of modes. Their strength is also found to exhibit self similar properties
