Outline of planning and construction of Tsuruga Power Station Unit No.2
Description
Construction is now proceeding on Unit 2, a PWR power plant of rated output 1,160 MW, in the Tsuruga Power Station. It will be completed in 1987. In the construction, efforts are made toward establishment of the technology for a domestic, improved and standardized 1,100 MW level PWR plant. In the Unit 2 PWR power plant, a prestressed concrete reactor containment vessel is employed for the first time in Japan in order to raise its aseismicity. Contents are the following: an outline of the facilities; features of the design, such as an improved, standardized plant, PCCV, buildings layout, etc.; PCCV construction works, including the foundation, the upper shell and prestress system.
