What bends WATs?
Creators
Description
This paper presents the problem of determining the mechanism for bending the wide angle tail radio sources (WATs). The definition of the class by morphological type, radio power, and optical association is reviewed. The current theoretical paradigm, upon which evaluations of the plausibility of mechanisms proposed to bend the sources into the observed shapes are based, is described. The bending mechanisms that have been presented in the literature are discussed, and newer ideas from the most recent publications and previous talks in this conference are mentioned. 24 references
