Description
The relationships between the structure and mechanical relaxation of polyethylenes were studied, in the temperature range from -50 to 200 deg C. Both unirradiated and Co-60 gamma-radiation cross-linked samples were used. For the latter, the degree of crystallization determined by LDPE enthalpy measurement was not changed by 2-30 Mrad irradiation. The peak temperature for crystalline transition decreased with irradiation, at maximal dose it was 6 deg C. (R.P.) 7 refs.; 8 figs
