Overview of the R&D Program for the Develoment of Minor Actinide Separation Processes
- 1. Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA), Centre de Marcoule, 91191 Gif-sur-Yvette Cedex (France)
Description
Conclusions: With 20y of R&D, France has demonstrated that the recycling of MA is technically feasible Efficient partitioning processes for the different strategies are available GANEX for homogeneous mode DIAMEX/SANEX, DIAMEX/TODGA or EXAM for heterogeneous mode No difficulties revealed during consolidation studies for further implementation MA recycling is thought to bring a significant contribution towards an enhanced social acceptance of nuclear energy by decreasing waste burden for future generation and bringing nuclear waste back within human history Final report given to the French government in Dec. 2012
