Description
In an accompanying paper, Draine (1986. Mon. Not. R. Astra. Soc. 220,133) considers the formulation of the problem of multicomponent reacting MHD flows. Draine notes certain discrepancies with earlier work on this same problem by Flower, Pineau des Forets and Harquist (1985. Mon. Not. R. Astra. Soc. 216, 775). In this paper, the quantitative significance of these discrepancies is considered in the context of shocks propagating in interstellar clouds. (author)
