Research progress of MSCTA in children with congenital disease of portal vein and inferior vena cava

It is difficult to display the disease of congenital portal vein and inferior vena cava in children with traditional radiography. However, with the development of multislice spiral CT angiography (MSCTA) the problem has been resolved. The MSCTA allows a volume scan, and can accurately display the internal diameter of the lesion. It enable not only qualitative diagnosis but also quantitative measurement. The MSCTA has great potential to replace the DSA as the 'Golden standard' in diagnosing the vascular lesion in children. The review highlights the clinical application and perspective of the MSCTA in children with congenital disease of portal vein and inferior vena cava. (authors)
