Description
The viability of nuclear power is a key element of the Midwest's and the nation's mix of energy source technologies. The Twelfth Annual Illinois Energy Conference provides an important forum for discussion of the institutional, legislative, and technical solutions to problems impeding broader use of nuclear power. The Chicago Director of DOE outlines nine policy issues needing attention. These involve the status of nuclear power regulation, the status of state legislation on regional compacts for waste disposal, economics, public safety, and other concerns
