On the interaction of hydrogen and oxygen with boron powder and the kinetics of removal of the gases

  • 1. AN Gruzinskoj SSR, Tbilisi. Inst. Metallurgii

Description

A thermokinetic method was used to study the interaction of hydrogen and oxygen with boron powders at high temperatures. The thermal conditions necessary for hydrogen removal from boron powders were determined and the reaction of purified powders with molecular hydrogen was examined at different temperatures. Purified powder samples were heated at different temperatures in air and the weight changes, the boron oxide concentrations and the total oxygen contents were determined for different values of the specific powder surface area.
