Beam tests with large area silicon sandwich calorimeters for electron energies between 1 and 6 GeV

Description
Specially developed large area silicon detectors were used for electromagnetic shower calorimeters. Tests have been performed in the energy range between 1 and 6 GeV. Measurements of shower development, visible energy and energy resolution are presented and compared to those obtained in other experiments. (orig.)
