Reaction of monocyclopentadienyl complexes of uranium(4) with oxygen

Description

Uranium complexes of the composition CpUCl3 x 2L[Cp=eta5-C5H5, L=C4H8O (THF), (C4H9O)3PO(TBP)] interact with molecular oxygen at 298 K in organic solvents with formation of uranyl dichloride complexes UO2Cl2 x 2L and isolation of cyclopentadiene. The latter is easily halogenized under the reaction conditions up to a polymeric product. Probable routes of the cyclopentadienyl ligand transformation are suggested. Refs. 9, refs. 3, tabs. 2
