Description

Full text: A narrow beam good geometry transmission method has been applied for the determination of attenuation coefficients of five borate glasses of the type χ A (1-χ) B2O3 (where A = PbO, Bi2O3, BaO, CaO, CdO and x is the mode fraction) at 662, 1173 and 1332 ke V photon energies, It is pointed out that the glasses containing heavy metal oxides like PbO and Bi2O3 are potentially useful for shielding applications
