A replacement process for a duct passing through the vessel bottom of a pressurized water nuclear reactor

Description

After extracting the tube to be replaced, the inner surface around the opening is machined and a hollow shell is welded on the machined surface. The shell is then bored to realize an opening for the new duct which is next welded. Application to the replacement of penetration ducts in the bottom of PWR vessels. (author). 5 refs., 4 figs
