Description
Refereed to the Indonesian Act No. 17, 2007, Indonesia plans to operate the first Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), in the 3th of medium-term program, between 2015 to 2019. One of the critical infrastructure requirements that must be implemented prior to construction and operation of NPP is the development of human resources. The human resources development need to be considered because takes a very long time and requires a commitment from stake holders. Actually, human resource development program of nuclear technology has been carried out by BATAN for last 4 decade, although not specifically in the field of nuclear power plants or nuclear energy. In 2008, the national team on HRD for NPP has been set up under the coordination of Training Agency in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (BADAN Diklat-ESDM), with the responsible for preparing infrastructure on human resource development program for nuclear power plant. This paper reports the National Team and ETC-BATAN activities in the preparation on HRD for NPP, covering personnel needed on the NPP program in qualitatively and quantitatively especially on operation and maintenance program, the training design for NPP personnel, as well as the concept of Nuclear Training Center.
