The reduction of low concentration Cr(VI) in nitric acid solutions

Description
51Cr(VI) is reduced at room temperature by nitric acid, producing several 51Cr(III) species, as determined by ion exchange chromatographic analysis. The reduction is observed at all nitric acid concentrations tested, from 10-3 mol L-1 to fuming nitric acid (90%); the rate of reduction depends on the acid concentration. (author)

51Cr(VI) e reduzido a temperatura ambiente pelo acido nitrico, produzindo varias especies de 51Cr(III), determinadas por cromatografia por troca ionica. A reducao e observada em todas as concentracoes de acido nitrico testadas, de 10-3 mol L-1 a acido nitrico 90% (fumegante), sendo que as taxas de reacao dependem da concentracao.
