Description
To increase the wear resistance of heat resisting alloy ZhS26 during its operating under conditions of contact friction a method of built-up laser welding with refractory WC carbides has been proposed. It is shown that laser heating results in formation of the surface structure, consisting of initial WC carbides and a tungsten alloyed gamma-phase. An increase of alloy ZhS26 hardness and wear resistance is associated with the presence of initial carbides, gamma-phase solid solution strengthening and precipitation hardening due to precipitating fine carbides W2C and gamma'-phase
