Description
The microstructure, hardness, compression and wear resistance of AlCrCuFeNi, AlCrCuFeNiTi0.5 and different heat treatment (600 °C/12 h, 800 °C/12 h, 1000 °C/12 h)annealed AlCrCuFeNiTi0.5 High Entropy Alloys(HEAs) fabricated by arc melting and casting were investigated by XRD,SEM and EDS in detail. The results indicate that all the alloy tested in this paper are typical dendritic structures and possesses simple BCC + FCC phases. AlCrCuFeNi alloy projects excellent compressive mechnical properties with fracture strength of 1624 MPa and plastic strain of 21%. After the addition of Ti,the hardness and wear resistance of AlCrCuFeNiTi0.5 alloy improves. With the incerase of heating temperature, the strength, hardness, plasticity and wear resistance of AlCrCuFeNiTi0.5 alloy are improved. Especially after holding at 800 °C for 12 h, the strength and plasticity of the alloy reached the highest with 1525 MPa and 21%, respectively. (paper)
