Evaluating photovoltaic water pumping systems in Brazil: Environmental and economic concerns

Description

This paper deals with socio-economic appraisal of photovoltaic water pumping systems (PVP) set up in the State of Ceara, Northeast of Brazil. The PVP development project was evaluated by different techniques contrasting the promoters point of view to the villagers' own appraisal. Based on these findings, the authors have recommended PVP, instead of all other options analyzed in the paper
