Schottky signal monitoring at Fermilab
Description
Schottky signals arising from the independent motions of particles in an accelerator are extremely useful for observing properties of the beam. This paper will outline the use of Schottky signals at Fermilab. Specific examples of longitudinal and transverse detectors will be shown as well as methods of amplifying and distributing the signals. Various types of signal monitoring equipment will be discussed with some examples of custom built equipment. Measurements of emittance, tune and other beam parameters will be shown
