Development of aluminum gaskets

Description

Aluminum gaskets are designed for a vacuum flange based on the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). The gaskets were tested as a vacuum seal by changing the form and made a comparison with rubber gaskets. It is found that the aluminum gaskets are superior to ordinary rubber ones with respect to radiation damage and out gassing. (author)
