Resonance splittings of frequencies of internal vibrations of the complex anion in the ZrSiO4 zircon crystal

Description
Raman and infrared spectra of zircon have been analyzed. Given are the parameters of dipole oscillators corresponding to the fundamental vibrations of the zircon crystal, vibrations frequencies and forces of oscillators. The conclusion is made about anomalously great resonance splitting of polysymmetrical valent vibrations of complex anion sensitive to a change in the density of crystal packing. The mechanism of resonance splitting of inner vibrations of complex anions in these crystals cannot be explained by dipole-dipole interaction
