On the contribution of quasi-deuteron mechanism to the photoproduction of cumulative protons

Description
Yields of cumulative proton photoproduction due to the dissociation of quasideuterons in a nucleus induced both by incident photons and secondary low-energy pions are calculated. It is shown that the total contribution of these mechanisms could be from 5% (at photon energies ≥ 200 NeV) to 25% (≤ 100 MeV) of experimentally measured yields of cumulative protons from 12C nuclei at Eγmax=4.5 GeV
