Reactor and geologically-produced antineutrinos

Description

Intense and well-understood neutrino production at nuclear power reactors has been and planned to be used for studying various properties of neutrinos and important physics parameters such as magnetic moment, Weinberg angle, sterile component, θ12,13, Δm221,31 and so on. Highlighted here are the recent precise measurement of Δm221 at about 180km baseline with reactor neutrinos. Studying geophysics with neutrinos is one of applications using neutrinos as a probe for peering astronomical objects. The big and low-background detector dedicated for the long-baseline reactor experiment is also applicable to observe geologically-produced ν-bar es and the first observational results from the experiment is also reported here
