A freezing technique applicable to transformation studies of C3H10T1/2 cells

  • 1. ENEA, Casaccia (Italy). Centro Ricerche Energia

Description

The authors conclude that their freezing technique is applicable to studies of the dose-protraction effect of fission spectrum neutrons on neoplastic transformations, using the C3H10 T 1/2 cell mouse embryo fibroblast system, at least for storage of irradiated cells for up to 1 week. Results showed that the freezing process shifted the distribution of plating efficiencies towards somewhat lower values, but that the mean value for frozen cells was still within an acceptable region.
