The visibility function and its effect on the observed characteristics of sunspot groups. 8
Description
Positions of the extreme points of OC-diagrams and the surface density of sunspot groups in OC-diagrams are determined. It is shown that the surface density of sunspot groups is homogeneous in the direction of the two axes of the OC-diagrams and is in all OC-diagrams identical and independent of the area development curve of the sunspot group; this does not hold for Minnaert's diagram.
