Description

The discovery of structure in the U235 fission cross section in the keV range has necessitated the evaluation of the corresponding mean fission width resonance parameters in this energy region. Starting from the recently evaluated fission cross sections, a set of energy dependent fission widths have been evaluated in the energy region 0.1 to 25 keV. A structure is seen in the so evaluated fission width. These evaluations were carried out using a computer program which has been developed to do such adjustments for mean fission or capture reaction width of one or more spin states or strength functions for s or p waves to reproduce the given recommended capture and/or fission cross sections as a function of energy in the unresolved resonance region.
