I-tese Newsletter - Number 26, Fall 2015

Description

A first article presents and discusses the study 'Decarbonization wedges' performed by the National Alliance of Coordination of Research for Energy (ANCRE) to assess low carbon technologies aimed at the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. This study addressed the maturity and development trajectory of these technologies as well as the potential deadlocks or accelerators. It aimed at identifying R and D actions to be performed to remain on a world trajectory of 2 degrees. Different approaches have been considered. Then, a set of articles addresses the following topics: what is to be expected from innovation, an analysis of the Finnish experiment of nuclear cogeneration, a first economic assessment of nuclear cogeneration for urban heating in France. A set of brief articles addresses a multi criteria analysis of innovation policies in favour of solar mobility in France by 2030, an OECD report on the projected cost of generating electricity, and uranium markets as they are perceived by the IAEA
