Cerium oxide effect on radiation stability of alkali fluorophosphate glasses

Description
Cerium oxide effect was investigated on crystallizability, spectral and radiation characteristics of P2O5-Na2O-K2O-LiF-AlF3 system with fluorine concentration comparable to oxygen concentration gamma-quantum glass irradiation was conducted with dose rate of 60-70 R/s upto 106 R dose. Glasses containing 1 mas % of CeO2, are radiation-stable ones. Increase of absorption index after their irradiation is 0.12 at λ=550 nm (thickness of a layer 1 cm). Thermal decolouring of irradiated glasses leads to almost complete removal of guided absorption. The main part of guided absorption is removed during the first heating to 600 deg C
