New demands in process monitoring and control in the supraregional gas supply of East Germany

Fundamental changes in the structure of the gas supply system regarding the use of natural gas H as well as the purchasing behaviour of the customers of Verbundnetz Gas AG took place between 1989 and 1994. Based on these changes there are pointed out supply issues and tendencies of development in the new Federal Laender, especially under the viewpoint of future system control by dispatching. The subject of discussion is the conservation of the compound character of the transport system of Verbundnetz Gas AG when feeding natural gas H, which is of different quality, and a feasible solution is shown for the bundling up of a control system using a licensed measuring method to determine the gas quality for accounting purposes.
