Antithyroid autoantibodies and thyroid status of residents of the Kaluga District territories contaminated with radionuclides
Description
Correlation between status of thyroid system and occurrence of the antithyroid autoantibodies at the inhabitants of polluted by radionuclides areas, distinguishing by age on the moment of the observation is established. The assays of thyroid hormones, thyroglobulin and autoantibodies to thyroglobulin or microsomal antigen have been done in serum of the inhabitants of Chvastovichi and Jizdra regions of Kaluga area, collected in 1995, who were the children and teenagers at the moment of accident. The antithyroid autoantibody induction is connected in the specific way with the age at the moment of exposure to radiation factors. The frequency of the antithyroid autoantibodies presence is authentic above in group with detected abnormal behavior of thyroid gland (mainly, at diffuse euthyroid goiter), than in group without any thyroid pathologies
