Description
Center for Advanced Reactor Development (CARD) of Korea Electric Power Research Institute (KEPRI) has been currently developing Korean Next Generation Reactor (KNGR). KNGR is targeted to have more advanced performance of safety and economy than those of current nuclear power plants (NPPs). The Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) program was launched to assure the achievement of KNGR availability goal by design analysis in KEPRI. This paper introduces the availability analysis methodologies. And it is shown how the availability target of KNGR can be achieved even at this conceptual design stage. 3 refs., 1 fig., 5 tabs
