  • 1. Direktorat Pengaturan Pengawasan Fasilitas Radiasi dan Zat Radioaktif Badan Pengawas Tenaga Nuklir - BAPETEN, Jl. Gajah Mada No. 8, Jakarta 10120 (Indonesia)

Description

Indonesia has been implementing requirements on the security of radioactive sources as established in BAPETEN Chairman Regulation Number 6 of 2015 on the Security of Radioactive Sources. Accordance to changes in international standards, technological development, increased security threats, and national laws and regulations, the regulation implementation should be evaluated. A survey has been conducted to explore regulation implementation. Twenty-six closed, and five opened questions have been designed based on the Likert method to identify and collect users' perceptions, represented by scores from 0 to 100. One hundred and thirty-four respondents participated in the survey. Based on the data, the best perception score is 86.3, related to the benefits of the regulation. The worst score is 73.4, related to the ease of respondents in understanding the security requirements. The average score is 77.7, which means the regulation can be applied well. Several regulatory improvements are needed to improve regulations' applicability, including simplifying the formulation, broader and more intensive socialization, improvement of personnel competencies, etc. (author)
