Radiation method of measurement of radial gaps in between motor crank mechanism joints

Description
A radiation method for measuring gaps between internal combustion engine crank and rocker mechanism mates avoiding dismantling has been described. The method is based on the radiation-assisted determining of various piston positions taken in the upper dead point when subjected to the inertia force and compression force during operation. The device functional diagram, gap measuring procedure, and laboratory-scale trials results on the YaMZ-238 type engine are presented
