Report
Examining the feasibility of ensuring diversity of the engineered safety feature actuation system
Description
The report contains a proposal for dividing the engineered safety feature actuation system (ESFAS) and steam generator technological protection (SGTP) signals into two groups so that any event whose frequency exceeds 10-3/year should be covered by a minimum of 2 signals from different groups. This, of course, does not apply to cases where the acceptance criteria are also met without ESFAS or SGTP intervention. The proposal is tentative one and should be corroborated by additional analyses. (author)
