A search for the Cygnus X-3 infra-red candidate at one micron

  • 1. California Univ., Berkeley (USA)

Description

An attempt to observe the recently discovered infra-red candidate for Cygnus X-3 at one micron has yielded the limit I > 16.3. For a typical O9 star, this implies AV > 17.1, probably excluding membership of Cygnus X-3 in the Cyg OB2 association.
