Fragment emission in the reaction 14N+197Au at E/A=100, 130, and 156 MeV

Description
Low threshhold, high resolution detector telescopes together with the MSU Miniball 4π detector array have been used in an exclusive experiment to measure intermediate mass fragments (IMF: 3<Z<20) emitted over a broad angular range in the reaction 14N+197Au at E/A = 100, 130, and 156 MeV. Kinetic energy spectra, element distributions, and angular distributions are presented for various gates on the charged-particle multiplicity. The time scale of fragment emission is deduced by examining fragment-fragment velocity correlations
