Processing of aqueous media containing radioactive metallic ions and absorbing elements which can be implemented in this process

Description

Here is described a process in aqueous media or effluents containing radioactive metallic ions such silver, cobalt, potassium, cesium, antimony, in the aim to get the concentration in these ions at a value lower than this one from which it is possible they can be released; this process consists in a first step in which the aqueous solution goes through a filter made of coke, then about 90% of radioactive ions can be kept, if the radiochemical activity is still upper than the release threshold, the first step is followed by a second step in which we used a filter with graphite particles coated by a conductor polymer layer with ethereal cryptic cages. 3 figs., 2 refs
