NMR and ion mobility in xerogels of polyvanadates
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk (USSR). Inst. Khimii
Description
Ion mobility in polyvanadium acid and its derivatives (H,M)2TixV12-xO31-yxnH2O, where M=Li, Na; x=0 and 1; y ∼0.3 was studied, using NMR technique. It was established, that proton and ion motion of alkali metal compounds proceeds in interlayer space. At temperatures below 200 K hydrogen ions diffuse inside small proton groupings and by increasing temperature above 200 K intensive proton interchange is observed. Substitution of titanium for vanadium atoms in V-O-layers results in facilitating proton transition and consequently only one proton diffusion mechanism is displayed
