Description
The great technological advances in terms of image acquisition and analysis have allowed these new technologies to become allies in conventional medicine. Among the exams that use non-invasive imaging methods, computed tomography (CT) stands out. This exam allows the visualization of internal organs and anatomical details using intravenous iodinated contrast, allowing the identification of tumors in their early stages, such as hepatocarcinoma. Its occurrence is related to factors such as hepatitis C and B and excessive alcohol consumption, and is closely related to liver cirrhosis. Once this type of tumor is identified early it can be effectively treated, improving the prognosis of these patients. Since the use of CT scanning to help identify initial hepatocarcinomas has proven effective, this study had as objective, from a literature review was performed a search by the sites, Google Scholar, Scielo, from books and bibliographic articles, showing the importance of CT in the accuracy of image acquisition and the impact of this test in the diagnosis of this type of tumor comparing with CT protocols of major powers in research, thus obtaining four protocols that show a difference of ten to five seconds in the arterial phase, portal and in the balance phase of one to two seconds. Highlighting that Hospital de Amor Fundacao Pio XII follows as reference Li-Rads (2018) and Colegio Brasileiro de Radiologia e Diagnostico por Imagem, correctly showing the correct time for image acquisition.
