Interaction of CaSO4 with TRPO4 (TR=La, Ce, Nd)

Description
Using the methods of X-ray phase and complex thermal analyses the interaction of calcium sulfate with lanthanum, cerium, and neodymium phosphates is investigated. It is shown that in the systems CaSO4 - TRPO4 in the process of heat treatment up to the temperature of 1200 deg C chemical interaction is absent. Above the temperature intensive interaction takes place, which can be explained by the formation of metastable phase Ca3TR2O3 decomposing into CaO and TR2O3 oxides (CaO and CeO2 for cerium-containing system)
