  • 1. Bylgarska Akademiya na Naukite, Sofia (Bulgaria). Inst. za Yadrena Izsledvaniya i Yadrena Energetika

Description

The implementation of the radiocarbon dating method at the INRNE, Sofia is described. The choice of liquid scintillation detectors and their advantage over the proportional counters is well grounded. The chemical appliance for synthesis of benzene is presented and some results obtained are given. The measuring instrument TRI-CARB 460CD, its operation principle and the source preparation are described. The relationship between the instrument's efficiency and the quanta loss (guenching) is determined. The dependence of the quanta maximal energy on the quenching and the background of the different cells is investigated. Some data obtained by the method and compared with the results from other laboratories are shown. 5 tabs., 7 figs., 13 refs
