Description

An infrared difficulty was observed in the tadpole contribution to the polarization tensor of a Yang-Mills theory in a homogeneous magnetic background. This motivates the study of slightly modified background configurations which taper off at infinity. Here I present some preliminary considerations regarding the solenoidal background which is a special case of a modified homogeneous background. (orig.)
