Description

In order to prove the detectability of possible flaws in steam generator tubes by eddy current inspection technique, an experimental work had been carried out by ISI Committee in the Nuclear Power Engineering Test Center (NUPEC). The inspection system used in this test is described in this paper. It was identical to one which is commonly used for steam generator tube inspection in Japan. Test parameters were type of flaw, size of flaw and location of flaw for the detectability by test frequencies of 100 kHz, 400 kHz and 100/400 kHz mix. The flaws were introduced in various portion of tube, i.e., straight portion, U-bend portion, at tube support plate and within tube sheet crevice
