Effect of fast neutrons on some indices of nUcleic acids metabolism
Description
Experimental investigations of dynamics of radiation pathology development have been performed. It is concluded that single-time irradiation of animals with 1 MeV neutrons in the sublethal dose brings about stable violations of DNA metabolism which is not recovered in all terms of observations. It is found that systematic introduction of exogeneous DNA is accompanied by certain lengthening of latent period of induced tumors by the first year after irradiation, but has no pronounced anticancerogenous effect. However, exogenous DNA produces stimulating effect on hemopoisis and some features of immune reactivity of the organism. It is supposed that DNA is a prospective preparation to be used in a complex with anti-tomour compounds that possess cytotoxic and immunodepressive properties
