System for higher mode oscillation damping in the UNK accelerating module
Description
The main elements and performances of accelerating module higher mode damping system in the 3000 GeV accelerating-storage complex (ASC) are described. The system is developed taking into account calculation topology of higher mode fields and requirements to their coupling impedances. Results of experiments on higher mode damping in an experimental model of ASC system are presented. The investigations have shown the possibility to use the system of three dampers on each ASC module resonator for the decrease of coupling impedances at higher modes to the threshold level in the frequency range from 300 to 1500 MHz
